Home-Made Yummy Pita Pizza
Because of the flexibility, this is one of my favorite new recipes. It’s simple to modify to your own taste preferences. For example, you could just use tomatoes, onions, mushrooms, and any other toppings you choose instead of the pepperoni if you want a vegetarian pizza! You have the option of selecting a whole wheat pita bread, gluten-free pita bread, or naan bread as your basis!
Using up items in your refrigerator is a great idea while making yummy pita pizza. Cheeses like cheddar, parmesan, or feta are easy substitutes for mozzarella if you run out of the stuff.
Ingredients
The best part about this recipe is how you can make something really tasty and reasonably priced with just a few basic components. For precise measurements, scroll down on the recipe card.
- Store-bought pita bread: This is used in place of pizza dough. You won’t need to throw it or wait for it to rise. This dough is ideal for making pizza!
- Marinara Sauce: You may prepare your own homemade pizza sauce or purchase marinara from the store. If you prefer olive oil to marinara, you may still use it.
- Shredded Mozzarella Cheese: This mildly flavored cheese melts to a gorgeously creamy texture, making it the ideal foundation for additional toppings.
- Pepperoni Slices: These give the dish a substantial mouthfeel and a flavorful burst. Get a spicier pepperoni if you want to turn up the fire!
- Basil & Red Pepper Flakes: Garnish them with these. The cheese and sauce are complemented by the fresh herbal flavor of basil and the spiciness of red pepper flakes.
