Instructions

  • Cook the ground beef and onion in a large skillet over medium-high heat until the beef is almost cooked through and browned.
  • Add the taco seasoning, green chilies, and garlic to the skillet. After the steak is fully cooked and everything has come together, remove from the heat and leave aside.
  • Set the oven's temperature to 350°F. Spread some olive oil on a baking pan and line it with foil. To soften them, spread out some tortillas in a single layer on the baking sheet, drizzle some olive oil over their tops, and bake for three to four minutes.
  • Once all of the tortillas are ready, remove the baked ones and repeat with another batch.
  • Taquito assembly involves taking one tortilla, adding about 2 teaspoons of the beef filling to the lower third of the tortilla, rolling the tortilla firmly, and placing the taquito, seam side down, on the baking sheet. Continue this process with the remaining tortillas and filling.
  • After 15 minutes of baking, take the taquitos out of the oven, flip each one, and continue baking for a further 10 minutes.
  • Serve the taquitos with salsa, sour cream, fresh cilantro, or your preferred dipping sauce!
