No one can resist a tasty taco, whether it’s the frozen variety or the ones you get from 7-Eleven! They’re better handmade, which isn’t a secret. This recipe for Delicious beef tacos MUST be tried!

The good news is that it’s really simple to make these homemade tacos. Toss in some flavorful seasonings, cook your meat, and then roll it up in a little tortilla with shredded cheese! Whichever method works best for you either cook these in the oven or an air fryer; I’ve given both options!

Ingredients Used in Delicious Beef Taquitos

These tasty beef tacos only require a few basic taco ingredients! You can use any leftover taco meat in this recipe. Then all you’ll need are corn tortillas and some shredded cheese. See the recipe card for a list of measures.

  1. Lean Ground Beef: The base for the filling. Although this recipe calls for beef taquitos, you may just as easily use ground turkey or pork in its place.
  2. Yellow Onion: Chopped to give every bite some texture and flavorful flavor.
  3. Minced Garlic: For each taco to have a delicious flavor, fresh is ideal.
  4. Diced Green Chiles: Give the beef filling some heat.
  5. Taco Seasoning: A traditional spice blend to enhance the flavor of ground beef. Make your own blend from scratch or use your preferred prepackaged variety!
  6. Corn Tortillas: Any size tortilla would work; I chose 6-inch ones. All you might have to do is slightly modify the cooking time.
  7. Shredded Cheese: For a little kick, you might use pepper jack or cheddar cheese instead of the Mexican blend that I used.
  8. Olive Oil: To use as a brush for the tortillas’ tops. After baking, it turns them crispy and golden!

Instructions of Recipe

Go ahead and make a double batch if that’s what you’re thinking! These house-made beef tacos are very popular. As soon as they come out of the oven, my kids eat them.

  • Cook Onion and BeefCook the ground beef and onion in a large skillet over medium-high heat until the beef is almost cooked through and browned.
  • Mix in Seasonings: Add the taco seasoning, green chilies, and garlic to the skillet. After the steak is fully cooked and everything has come together, remove from the heat and leave aside.
  • Prepare Tortillas: Set the oven’s temperature to 350°F. Spread some olive oil on a baking pan and line it with foil. To soften them, spread out some tortillas in a single layer on the baking sheet, drizzle some olive oil over their tops, and bake for three to four minutes.
  • Repeat: Once all of the tortillas are ready, remove the baked ones and repeat with another batch.
  • Assemble: Taquito assembly involves taking one tortilla, adding about 2 teaspoons of the beef filling to the lower third of the tortilla, rolling the tortilla firmly, and placing the taquito, seam side down, on the baking sheet. Continue this process with the remaining tortillas and filling.
  • Bake: After 15 minutes of baking, take the taquitos out of the oven, flip each one, and continue baking for a further 10 minutes.
  • Enjoy: Serve the taquitos with salsa, sour cream, fresh cilantro, or your preferred dipping sauce!
