Easy and Delicious Sausage and Rice Casserole

With only a few basic ingredients and a ton of flavor, this easy sausage and rice casserole will impress the whole family. Sausage, rice, celery, and onions are cooked in a creamy sauce.

I haven’t made a casserole for the blog in a long. I have no idea why!? My folks are big fans of casseroles! My objective is to deliver a few more casseroles to you. They are incredibly soothing and ideal for this time of year! I particularly adore that they have enough leftovers to serve my whole family.

Our neighbor delivered this meal to us when I gave birth to our baby last summer. Our whole family gobbled it up because it was so delicious. It’s one of those recipes you have to find and prepare repeatedly. I wanted to share this with you because my family is constantly requesting me to make it now!

This recipe is so traditional, and I have made it before. But THE BEST was the one my neighbor delivered. Perhaps the additional garnish of slivered almonds on top is the cause? Whatever it was, the flavor of this casserole was amazing and it blended together really nicely.

Ingredients Used

Recipe

  • Preheat your oven to a temperature of 350 degrees before proceeding. A medium skillet should be heated with the sausage added therein and cooked halfway on medium heat. Following that, the onion, celery and garlic must be added then continue cooking until tenderized vegetables are obtained with an end product devoid of any pink coloration from sausages.
  • Fill a 2-quart casserole dish with the sausage. Mix the cream of celery and chicken broth in a small basin. Combine the rice with the soup and sausage. Stir until well combined. Add slivered almonds on top. Bake for 60 minutes with a tight aluminum foil cover. Before serving, let it sit for ten minutes.
  • Enjoy!
