Ingredients
These are quite simple to prepare and assemble. You’ll crave these pumpkin spice pancakes all year long, so stock up on canned pumpkin puree. For precise measurements, refer to the recipe card located at the bottom of the post.
- Flour: Both unbleached bread flour and all-purpose flour will function.
- Brown Sugar: Adds a deep, golden sweetness.
- Baking Powder: This is the ingredient that gives pancakes their fluffy texture—leavening.
- Salt: Brings the sweet in balance.
- Cinnamon, Nutmeg, Ginger, and Cloves: The essential spices for every pumpkin dish.
- Milk: If you use regular milk instead of buttermilk in this recipe, the baking powder will react and cause bubbles.
- Pumpkin Puree: Create sure it’s not the pumpkin pie filling; canned puree is quite easy to create.
- Egg: Use big eggs rather than medium.
- Butter or Vegetable oil: Whichever you like, either will suffice.
