Ingredients for Swedish Pancakes

The simplicity of ingredients used in Swedish pancakes is one of its many wonderful qualities! If you can get some lingonberry jam at Ikea, you should have everything else you need in your pantry to create these.

  1. Flour: Low-protein all-purpose flour will be used here, adding some structure to the pancakes. Make sure you use low-protein flour; if you are using something else, the pancakes will be as tough as old tires.
  2. Sugar: Adds just a hint of sweetness to the pancakes.
  3. Salt: A pinch will keep your pancakes from tasting dull.
  4. Large Eggs: Make sure all the ingredients are well combined and the pancakes have a crepe-like consistency.
  5. Milk: Modifies the batter’s consistency. For perfectly soft pancakes, I suggest using whole fat milk.
  6. Melted Butter: For used to prepare the Swedish pancakes. If you’d rather, you may also use nonstick cooking spray.
